British couple receive three months in jail for sex on Dubai beach London, Oct 28 : A British couple convicted of having sex on Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach may be jailed for a longer term, with prosecutors filing an appeal against their sentence.

The Court of First Instance had sentenced Michelle Palmer and Vince Acors to a three-month term in jail, fined 1,000 dirhams, and issued with deportation orders earlier this month.

However, according to their attorney Hassan Matter, the prosecutors have lodged an appeal against the sentence, saying it was “not enough”.

A British couple was sentenced on Thursday to three months in jail for having drunken sex in public on Dubai's Jumeirah beach.

Michelle Palmer, 37, a Dubai resident, Vince Acors, 34, were also fined 1,000 dirhams (271 dollars) for drinking alcohol in public.
