Student Intrudes Into Bangalore Army Camp, Shot Dead

A 20 year old, first year student of Baldwin College, was shot dead early in the morning on Sunday when he intruded into the Flag Staff House in Bangalore.

Army guards shot him as they thought him to be a terrorist when he entered a Brigadier's residence and there after tried to flee.

The student, identified as Mohammad Mukarram, was drag racing with some of his friends on MG Road when the police chased them away.

Mukarram ran and entered the Flag Staff House.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) , BK Singh,  said that the student did not surrender when asked to do so by the sentries and they thus fired three rounds.

Police said that Mukarram was taken to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

Bangalore IPL Team Is Not For Sale: MallyaVijay Mallya, the owner of the Bangalore Indian Premier League team dismissed information that the team was up for sale as the trading window for the second season opened on Monday.

Mallya said, “There has been some misinterpretation of a statement issued by my Bangalore office. The Bangalore IPL team is not for sale and neither do we seek to transfer a majority of our current players.”
