Student Intrudes Into Bangalore Army Camp, Shot Dead

A 20 year old, first year student of Baldwin College, was shot dead early in the morning on Sunday when he intruded into the Flag Staff House in Bangalore.

Army guards shot him as they thought him to be a terrorist when he entered a Brigadier's residence and there after tried to flee.

The student, identified as Mohammad Mukarram, was drag racing with some of his friends on MG Road when the police chased them away.

Mukarram ran and entered the Flag Staff House.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) , BK Singh,  said that the student did not surrender when asked to do so by the sentries and they thus fired three rounds.

Police said that Mukarram was taken to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

Senior army officers of the Sub Area of Karnataka and Kerala stated that around 0100 hrs IST, on Sunday, a person managed to enter the Flag Staff House.

After a thorough search, the sentries on guard, saw some person  on top of ta house.

Before he could be apprehended by the guards the intruder jumped and fled towards the compound wall, towards the main road.

When he did not heed the armed guard's warning to surrender, he was fired upon. The police are also investigating the case.
