Bangalore, Jan. 19 : Global IT company Mindtree Limited announced its results today for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008 as approved by its Board of Directors.

The company announced that its software revenues had grown by 16.6 percent Quarter over Quarter (QoQ) and 93.4 percent Year over Year (YoY) to Rs 3,638 Million.

In rupee terms, EBITDA for the quarter was 30.5 percent against 27.8 percent in Q2 2008-09 and 16.8 percent in Q3 2007-08. This reflects a QoQ growth of 28 percent and a YoY growth of 251.6 percent, a company statement said.

The World Bank had banned Indian IT giant, Wipro Technologies on account of extending undesired benefits to its employees in 2007. The company would not able to do business with bank for four years till 2011.

Earlier, beleaguered IT service provider Satyam Computers was also banned to do business with WB following serious bribery charges. Hyderabad-based Megasoft Consultants has also been banned for four years on similar grounds.

Vijay Mallya, owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has maintained that he has not yet finalized Rahul Dravid as the skipper of the Indian Premier League team.

Commenting over the media report that Dravid has been retained as captain of the team, Mallya said, "Who said so? After all, I am the boss of the team. I will decide who will be the captain."

Bangalore, Jan 8 : The Indian junior and senior women''s hockey teams are training seriously in Bangalore for forthcoming international tours.

The senior team will take part in a four-nation tournament in Santiago, Chile from January 17.

The 22-member squad is expected to fly into Santiago on January 15, where they will play against Italy, Argentina and host Chile.

Bangalore, Jan 7 : The Chairman of Satyam Computers, B Ramalinga Raju, today resigned after admitting to major financial wrong-doings.

The resignation of Ramalinga Raju has come as a shock to the board. In his letter to the board, he wrote that company has accounted exaggerated revenues over the years.

Raju, in his resignation letter, admitted to have inflated cash and bank balances of Rs 5,040 crore as against Rs 5,361 crore reflected in the books of accounts.

Terrorists have targeted the information technology companies in Bangalore. Some unidentified persons made calls and sent e-mails threatening to blow up few IT companies, including Infosys and Wipro.

The mails and calls, made just after the recent Mumbai terror attacks, have put the City police on high alert.

15 threatening mails and calls have been received so far.

There are numerous IT companies in the State, which serve as one of the main sources of revenue for the government.
