Threat calls flood IT firms

Threat calls flood IT firms Terrorists have targeted the information technology companies in Bangalore. Some unidentified persons made calls and sent e-mails threatening to blow up few IT companies, including Infosys and Wipro.

The mails and calls, made just after the recent Mumbai terror attacks, have put the City police on high alert.

15 threatening mails and calls have been received so far.

There are numerous IT companies in the State, which serve as one of the main sources of revenue for the government.

These IT companies might have been targeted by the terrorists as the IT sector has dealings with few western countries, including the US and UK. Sources, however, the officials do not rule out mischief behind such calls.

The security has been beefed up by the police at important places in the State.

The top officers of the police also discussed the type of security to be given to the IT companies.
