US aviation major, Boeing has indicated that it is planning to move about 300 engineering jobs to its facility near Long Beach airport during the coming months.

The company said that its employees form relocate from the Puget Sound region in Washington to the facility, which is located next to Long Beach Airport and that focuses on assembly of the C-17 cargo jet for the Air Force.  The company already has 1,200 engineers in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach.

According to the latest figures released, China's manufacturing activity has accelerated during the month of May indicating that the world's second largest economy might be recording stable recovery.

Leading global coffee chain, Starbucks is planning to ban smoking within 25 feet of its stores from this Saturday.

The ban will be imposed form 1 June at stores as permitted by its leases. Starbucks spokeswoman Jaime Lynn Riley said that the company is planning to expand the smoke free indoor environment to the outdoor seating area for its customers. The ban will be imposed across the country to the 7,000 cafés owned and operated by Starbucks Corp and will include both those that have outdoor seating and those that do not.

A special committee entrusted with the task of evaluation investment proposals in computing giant, Dell has said that it is backing a buyout proposal by Silver Lake Partners and founder Michael Dell that offers $13.65 a share to the shareholders.

The backing of the proposal is a major setback for activist investor Carl Icahn, who has offered a deal with $12 a share special dividend. The special committee has written to the shareholders of Dell recommending them to vote in favour of Silver Lake and Michael Dell's takeover during the company's shareholder meeting on July 18, 2013.
