Mumbai, June 1 :  Actor Kunaal Roy Kapur is happy that his brother Aditya's film "Aashiqui 2" has crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office. He says it is "unbelievable" for his family.

A Mohit Suri directorial, "Aashiqui 2" features Aditya and actress Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

" I am just very proud and I am very happy that his (Aditya's) film has attained blockbuster status," Kunaal said here Thursday.

The Congress-led UPA government befooled people by reducing the rates of petrol and suspending revision in prices of diesel before the Karnataka Assembly elections, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said.

Jayalalithaa said the centre avoided any increase of the prices of the fuels before the recently concluded Karnataka Assembly elections, but increased the prices of fuels after the polls.

Sun Pharma, India's leading pharmaceutical group by market capitalization, is reportedly pursuing talks to acquire Swedish drug-maker Meda AB.

Citing anonymous sources, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) also reported on Friday that Mumbai-based generic drug-maker Sun Pharma was in talks with lenders to finance the deal. The Journal also reported that Meda, one of the Sweden's largest pharmaceutical firms, could be worth in the range of $4.5 billion to $5 billion.

Tumkur (Karnataka), June 1 : The central government's scheme to provide direct cash benefit to the poor for cooking gas got off in 18 districts across the country Saturday with its formal launch by Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister M. Veerappa Moily here.

Called the Direct Benefit Transfers for LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), the scheme would benefit over 6.7 million LPG Consumers in these districts. The subsidy on LPG cylinders would be provided directly to consumers in their Aadhaar-linked or Unique Identification Number (UID) bank accounts.

Bangkok, June 1 : Thailand and Sri Lanka have agreed to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation on religion, trade and investment, and education, Xinhua reported Saturday.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra held talks with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on a variety of issues in Colombo, it said.

The Thai leader Friday hailed the Sri Lankan government for its success vis-a-vis Tamil separatists.
