Indian singers, Britney Spears sing for same film

Britney-SpearsNew Delhi, July 25 : Indian singers and international pop icon Britney Spears have sung different songs for Hollywood film "The Smurfs 2".

The upcoming 3D animation movie "The Smurfs 2" will feature a song sung by Chennai-based singer Adhi of HipHop Tamizha band and top nine contestants of singing reality show "Indian Idol Junior".

While Spears' song is titled "Ooh La La", the track by Indian singers is titled "Na Na Na (Nice v/s Naughty)", said a statement.

Internet usage in S. Africa hits 14mn-mark

Internet-UsingJohannesburg, July 25 : The internet usage has significantly grown in South Africa this year, already involving 14 million people, said a latest survey.

"The number of people with access to the web is higher than thought," said the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) and Echo Consultancy Wednesday in its latest survey report, Xinhua reported.

The internet users were approximately 6.8 million in South Africa in 2010, jumping to 8.5 million in 2011, said the report. The users include 39 percent of adults and the rest are mainly teenagers.

South Korea's GDP growth accelerates

South-Korea-GDPSeoul, July 25 : South Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) growth accelerated to 1.1 percent in the second quarter from the prior quarter as a turnaround in private consumption relieved a weak facility investment, central bank data showed Thursday.

Real GDP, the broadest measure of economic performance, expanded 1.1 percent in the second quarter from three months earlier after gaining 0.8 percent in the previous quarter, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
