New Delhi, Aug 2: Communications Minister Kapil Sibal Friday said the much-awaited unified licences will be in place in a couple of days and all the mobile phone firms will have to mandatorily move to the new regime.

"The file has come to me and I have to sign on it. It will be out in a couple of days,” the minister said at the National Telecom Summit 2013 organised by Confederation of Indian Industry.

Los Angeles, Aug 2 : A new study claims that there is scientific ground to predict that climate change, resulting in higher temperatures, would contribute to violence and conflict.

Researchers from Princeton University and the University of California-Berkeley report in the journal Science that even slight spikes in temperature and precipitation have greatly increased the risk of personal violence and social upheaval throughout human history.

Projected onto an Earth that is expected to warm by 2 degrees Celsius by 2050, the authors suggest that more human conflict is a likely outcome, reports Science Daily.

Cellular network provider Idea on Thursday announced a year-on-year increase of nearly 100 per cent in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of current financial year, thanks to strong growth in voice and mobile data business.

The company announced that its consolidated net profit jumped to Rs 462.71 crore in the April-June quarter of 2013, from Rs 234.14 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

New Delhi, Aug 2 : The cabinet has asked the law ministry to suggest ways to set up an authority to fix rail fares, a minister said Friday.

According to Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari, the cabinet discussed the issue Thursday and asked the law ministry to suggest a road map.

He said there were two options before the government to set up such an authority -- through a legislative process or an executive order.

The consensus in the cabinet was on the executive order route.

Once the law ministry's recommendations come, it will go to the cabinet for consideration, said the minister.

Los Angeles, August 2 : Singer Shakira is breathing sigh of relief after a lawsuit filed by her ex-boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, was dismissed by the Los Angeles superior judge, reports eonline. com.

The lawsuit was one of three that de la Rua filed against the Colombian crossover star seeking a "partnership" interest in her income. The court shot down all three.

"I am very grateful that the courts are not allowing these groundless lawsuits to proceed. I have moved on in my life and could not be happier now. I hope this harassment will now come to an end," Shakira said in a statement.
