Sudden Die-Off of Bighorn Sheep causes Ban on Hunting Season near Yellowstone National Park

The die-off of bighorn sheep due to pneumonia forced Montana wildlife managers on Monday to take the unusual step of putting ban on hunting season near Yellowstone National Park.

The emergency closure came after state biologists found that pneumonia had claimed the life of nearly 40% of a herd near Gardiner, Montana, whose numbers fell to 55 this month. Last year their population was 89, said state wildlife managers.

They also said that such pneumonia outbreaks have been linked to contact between wild sheep and domestic ones that graze on public allotments and private lands throughout the Rocky Mountain West.

Taco Bell to introduce Taco Biscuit stuffed with Crispy Chicken in Breakfast Menu

A biscuit having a crispy chicken filling will take the place of the waffle taco on Taco Bell's breakfast menu. On Thursday, the Irvine-based Mexican fast-food chain will introduce the taco-shaped buttermilk biscuit. The crispy chicken is made of marinated all-white chicken breaded and fried in crushed tortilla chips. The yummy biscuit will be served with jalapeño honey or country gravy.

Chief Executive Brian Niccol said that the company is coming up with interesting food options. It is also encouraging people to change from their breakfast meal options like sandwiches. Taco Bell was of the view that sides that can be chosen with taco biscuit are sausage, eggs and cheese or with bacon, eggs and cheese.

Vessel opens its doors to public

Vessel, the new online video subscription service built by former Hulu boss Jason Kilar, was launched Tuesday. The new service provides early access to videos from YouTube stars through a monthly subscription fee. People who are willing to pay $2.99 per month will get content from popular YouTube stars 72 hours before public launch.

The service in private beta debuted Tuesday and is available to everyone on both web and iOS. Anyone who signs up with Vessel by 3am EDT Friday will receive a one-year subscription for free.

Consumers now watch more video on mobile devices, and YouTube has become the definite leader to deliver the service.

No Official Organization or Team providing help to Protect Endangered Species Ili Pika

Population of a tiny mammal species known as the Ili pika, which is a native to a remote region of China is a member of an endangered species, says conservationist Li Weidong.

There are less than 1,000 of these teddy bear-like creatures living in the Tianshan mountain range in the in the Xinjiang region of northwestern China.

Li found that pika, which is formally known as Ochotona iliensis, in 1983. Li named the creature after his hometown Ili.

In 1983, when pikas were first discovered no one knew about the mammal. But two years later, Li found another two creatures from the species and they declared them a new species.

Public asked to Help in Naming Geological Components of Pluto and Charon

NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft will pass by Pluto and its largest moon, Charon on July 14, 2015. It will click high-resolution pictures of the both. The images will reveal about craters, rifts and valleys, which will definitely need interesting names.

Therefore, the International Astronomical Union and the SETI Institute has come up with ‘Our Pluto’ campaign. As a part of the campaign, the public has been requested to share their views on how to name features on the surfaces of Pluto and its largest moon Charon.

Images even provided by the Hubble Space Telescope of Pluto and Charon are not being able to clearly explain surface details of Pluto and Charon. But such would not be the case with the images provided by New Horizons, which will fly by the distant worlds in July.
