Worldwide Consumption of Antibiotics Will Increase By 67% between 2010 And 2030

Extensive use of antibiotics among animals can lead to several life-threatening diseases in near future. It is known that industrial farms usually feed their livestock with low doses of the drugs to boost growth and protect their livestock from diseases.

But a recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal predicts the geography of antibiotic abuse in near future.

The study indicated that the next big threat will be raised from the middle-income nations like Brazil, Russia, India, and China, where number of people preferring meat in their diets is increasing tremendously. Due to this the extensive farms will try to meet this demand as affordably as possible.

Evolution is the Reason Why Men are attracted towards Women with Curvy Figure

A new study has helped researchers figure out that men prefer women with a theoretically optimal angle of lumbar curvature because of an evolutionary reason. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Texas at Austin, showed that even prehistoric men probably liked women with a curvy backside.

The men involved in the study rated women the highest who had a 45.5-degree curve from back to buttocks. The researchers said that women with this spinal structure were preferred by men even in ancient times because it would have helped pregnant women to balance their weight over the hips. Moreover, these women would have been the best at foraging during pregnancy without suffering spinal injuries.

Taste and Presentations Matter when it comes to Making Schoolchildren eat Healthy Lunch

A novel study published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics has found that using chefs in schools led to better results as children ate more fruits and vegetables. Researchers from Harvard University's T. H. Chan School of Public Health conducted a study in which they assessed the eating habit of more than 2,600 children. These children were studying in classes from third to eighth and were from two low-income urban school districts.

Majority of the students were Hispanic and their average age was 11-and-a-half-years. The researchers said that trained chefs were assigned to some schools in order to spice up fruits, vegetables and new dishes having low-fat, low-salt recipes.
