San Jose restaurant linked with Shigella outbreak gets approval to reopen

Around 200 people were sickened owing to Shigella outbreak happened in a San Jose restaurant. On Thursday, Santa Clara County health officials announced that Marisco has received approval to reopen its doors.

The Department of Environmental carried out re-inspection at the eating joint and later, allowed it to be reopened as it was confirmed that the place no more offers risk to public health from the infectious bacterial disease.

Since October 18, the restaurant was closed. According to county officials, the restaurant’s owners have taken pain and voluntarily threw out all the food products present at that place and then carried out a proper cleaning and sanitization process at the facility.

NASA releases 30-minute video of sun
