Islamabad [Pakistan], Oct. 7 : Hafiz Saeed, chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawaa (JUD), an Islamic charity linked to outlawed militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was among one of the top trends on Twitter in Pakistan last night.

Social media users in Pakistan showered praise on him and within hours, #IAmHafizSaeed listed among the top trends on the social networking site.

The JuD's chief supporters, in a series of tweets, praised and lauded his efforts and works that he is doing in Pakistan.

"?#IAmHafizSaeed yes a great man, great humanitarian, may live long #IAmHafizSaeed," said one of the tweets.

"The man who declared Suicide attacks HARAM, and vowed to protect minorities #IAmHafizSaeed," said another.

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 6 : A recent research conducted at the University of Helsinki states that consumption of Vitamin E may prevent the risk of pneumonia in non-smoking, middle-aged men.

The researchers studied whether Vitamin E supplementation might influence the risk of community-acquired pneumonia.

They analyzed the data of the randomized trial (Alpha-Tocopherol Beta-Carotene Cancer Prevention [ATBC] Study) which was conducted in Finland between 1985-1993 and included male smokers aged from 50 to 69 years.

The age when the participant started to smoke significantly modified the effect of Vitamin E on pneumonia.

Durban [South Africa], Oct.06 : South Africa's stand-in skipper Faf du Plessis has heaped praise on his side's sensational four-wicket win over Australia in Durban, saying that he was "out of words" to describe the incredible run-chase that at one stage looked very bleak.

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 6 : With use of rapid tests, general practitioners can now detect serious infections in children by just using a simple decision rule and a finger prick, suggests a recent study conducted at the University of Leuven, Belgium.

The procedure also prevents unnecessary hospital referrals for less serious cases.

Researcher Jan Verbakel said, "Conventional testing is often complex, expensive and most of all time-consuming. But recently, various so-called point-of-care tests have become available."
