Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 7 : A new research at the University of California has found that patients diagnosed late in the course of HIV infection are more likely to transmit HIV to others since they are

not on treatment to suppress it and could be transmitting the disease without knowing they are doing so.

Further, these patients are at an increased risk of negative health outcomes such as premature death, increased risk of HIV transmission, and opportunistic infections such as Kaposi's sarcoma, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and toxoplasmosis.

Lead researcher Brandon Brown and his team examined the prevalence and risk factors for county residents who have an AIDS diagnosis within 12 months of their first HIV-positive test.

London [UK], Oct. 7 : British rock band from 1962 'The Rolling Stones' recently announced its twenty fifth studio album, a collection of blues covers which takes the band back to their roots in the genre.

After a week of speculation, 'The Rolling Stones' have announced the release of their 25th studio album, 'Blue and Lonesome,' reports the Guardian.

This would come as the band's first studio album in over a decade and has been described as "five decades in the making and just three days to record."

'Blue and Lonesome' was reportedly recorded at the British Grove Studios in West London in December 2015, and also reportedly features 'old friend' Eric Clapton, who happened to be in the next studio making his own album at the time.

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 7 : In a recent research, scientists have developed a new nanosensor to detect the presence of pathogenicst rain of E. coli bacteria in food or water.

E. coli. is the common cause of contaminating the edible items and can lead to severe food borne diseases.

According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, millions of illnesses and more than 1,000 deaths every year in the U.S. are attributed to food borne illness caused due to pathogens.

Conventional methods to screen food to find sickness-causing microbes can take as long as 24 hours, which is often too slow to efficiently catch tainted products before they hit store shelves.

Faster methods exist but have limitations.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 7 : Terming the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi as an 'immature leader', the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said the former made a joke out of the slain soldiers of Indian Army by saying that the surgical strike was nothing but 'Khoon ki holi.'

"I am really astonished by the kind of language Rahul Gandhi has used for the Indian Government and the Indian Prime Minister. By saying that the surgical strike and the aftermath was nothing but 'khoon ki holi', he had in fact made the joke out of the martyred brave soldiers and Indian Army," said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

Patra further said that Gandhi is an immature leader and his immaturity provided a handle to Pakistan today to accused India.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 7 : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will on Friday kick off his two-day visit to western border districts of Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan.

The Union Home Minister will chair a meeting with Chief Ministers and Home Ministers of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir on the sealing of India-Pakistan border at the Border Security Force's Sector headquarters (North) in Jaisalmer.

Later, Singh will visit Murar Border Outpost (BOP) in Jaisalmer district and interact with BSF jawans.

On October 8, the Union Home Minister will visit Munabao BOP in Barmer district and also interact with jawans there.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 7 : The Supreme Court will on Friday resume hearing in the appeal filed by the Haji Ali Dargah Trust, challenging the Bombay High Court's verdict allowing women in the inner sanctum of the dargah.

The apex court on Tuesday agreed to hear the appeal by the Dargah Trust challenging the Bombay High Court's verdict.

On August 26, the Bombay High Court lifted the ban imposed on women from entering the inner sanctum of Haji Ali Dargah, in Mumbai.

Noorjehan Fiaz and Zakia Soman, founders of the Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA), had petitioned the Bombay High Court against the ban, calling it unconstitutional.

The 2011 ban violates the women's right to freedom of religion enshrined in Article 25 of the constitution.
