GM India increasing production level

General-MotorsWith a view to meet the rising demand in the Indian market, the Indian subsidiary of the Detroit-based auto major, General Motors has recently said that the company will be ramping up its production to ensure that it is gaining a steady market share in the Indian market.

General Motors India, Vice-President, P Balendran recently said in order to meet the rising demand for its products in the Indian market, it has recently started a second shift at the Talegon and Halol plants. It is to be mentioned here that the production capacity has been enhanced from 6,000 to 12,000 units per month.

Tata Motors posts a 41% rise

tata-nano-productionAfter gaining significant momentum as far as the Nano production is concerned, the largest home grown auto major Tata Motors has recently reported a 41 per cent increase in vehicle sales to 67,799 units in July, 2010.

In fact, as compared to the 48,054 units that the company sold in the same month of the previous year, it is very much clear that Nano is playing a big role for the company to gain high numbers in the Indian market.

Ford India in high spirits

FigoThere is no denying to the fact that Ford was considered as one of the underdogs in the Indian automobile market for the past many years but since the moment the company launched its Figo in the Indian market, it has taken the competition by surprise.

It is to be mentioned here that the company has reported a four-fold increase in sales to 8,739 units in July, 2010, compared to 2,146 units in the same period last year.

TVS Two-wheeler sales post a 35% rise

TVS-MotorsThe Chennai based two-wheeler major TVS Motors has recently announced that the two-wheeler business has posted a 35% rise for the month of July 2010. The company said in a statement that it sold 163,106 two-wheelers in July compared with 120,944 two-wheelers in July last year.

While the domestic sales grew by 33% in the last month, increasing from 107,883 units in July last year to 143,039 last month, the exports segment zoomed by close to 54% as the company exported around 20,067 units, which is way up as compared to the 13,061 units it exported in the same period last year.
