Ford India in high spirits

FigoThere is no denying to the fact that Ford was considered as one of the underdogs in the Indian automobile market for the past many years but since the moment the company launched its Figo in the Indian market, it has taken the competition by surprise.

It is to be mentioned here that the company has reported a four-fold increase in sales to 8,739 units in July, 2010, compared to 2,146 units in the same period last year.

The company has said in a statement that the overwhelming demand is highly boosted by the rising demand for the Figo in the Indian market. After showcasing the product in the month of September last year, the company launched the product in March 2010. Moreover, the company has got 29,000 bookings for Figo so far from the domestic circuit.

The unit sales is expected to rise even further as it has already started exporting the Figo to South Africa recently. The company has sold close to 46,751 vehicles during the January-July, 2010, period and is expecting to keep up the growth momentum in the Indian market.
