Cheryl Cole ‘offered 500pc hike and private jet for second X Factor series’

London, Oct 26: British singer Cheryl Cole has reportedly been offered a 500 percent pay rise and her own private jet if she agrees to sign up for a second series of the X Factor.

The show’s bosses are offering to increase her salary to 1.5million pounds next year, and since she will be touring the US with her band Girls Aloud, they are also offering her the “Mile High” bonus of a 5,000 pounds-an-hour private Gulfstream jet to fly backwards and forwards across the Atlantic.

That works out at up to 100,000 pounds per round trip, with the total cost hitting 1million pounds.

Simon Cowell, 49, is desperate to keep Cole on board for a second series, and the music mogul is happy to pay whatever it takes to keep her on the panel after she helped boost ratings by more than a million viewers.

“Cheryl’s proved to be the perfect X Factor judge. She is being offered at least £1.5million for a second series,” the Daily Star quoted an X Factor source as saying.

“And if she mentors this year’s winner she could probably raise it even higher. Who would bet against her doing that at the moment?

“With Girls Aloud about to launch an assault on America she wants to be with the band as much as possible.

“The jet is going to be provided by the TV company so she can make it to the summer auditions and the start of the show while still performing with Girls Aloud. She loves the idea of having her own jet and will be bringing hubby Ashley along. So who knows, they may join the Mile High Club for real!” the source said.

Cole, whose capability had come under scrutiny at the start, has proved an instant hit with ITV viewers thanks to her stunning looks and warm personality.

“The ratings have gone through the roof and it doesn’t take a genius to work out why. Cheryl has been a revelation on the show. She’s beautiful, kind, witty, natural and isn’t afraid to speak up to Simon,” she added. (ANI)
