On the 26th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial on Tuesday, Heroes Project, with the support of National AIDS Control Organisation, and in cooperation with the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society is holding a rally and a candlelight vigil at 8 pm at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.

The theme of the event is “Together, We Are the Solution.”

The program will be organized to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives because of the deadly disease (AIDS).

Bollywood stars and opinion leaders will attend the event. Moreover, they will speak on the occasion in order to create alertness and alert people regarding HIV and AIDS.

The event, which is a part of the Global Health Council to create HIV and AIDS awareness all through the world, is headed by a union of 1200 community organizations in 115 different nations.

The program will start with over 25 different processions from all over Mumbai and join at the venue, where over 10,000 participants are likely to assemble.  

At the occasion, Dr. Sujatha Rao, the head of NACO, will speak to the crowd, while Bollywood couple Hrithik and Suzzane Roshan will communicate a message of hope and acceptance.

Kumar Mangalam Birla will speak about the positive role of the business segment, while Nandita Das will portray the troubles of the affected.

While addressing the crowd, Vikram Hazra from the Art of Living will perform remindful bhajans and Shobhaa De will read a passage from the book ‘AIDS Sutra’.

Children affected by HIV will describe their heartbreaking histories, which will be accompanied by a performance by Sandeep Soparrkar and Jesse Randhawa. Gayatri Ganjawala will sing an anthem that exhorts people to overcome stigma.
