Hang Seng rises as investors take higher risksShares in the Hong Kong market increased due to hopes of a further increase in the year as well as higher risk appetitive shown by the investors.

The benchmark, Hang Seng Index increased 1.3 percent on Friday with a close of 22,111.33. It is the index's highest level since 2 August, 2011. Hang Seng has risen 2.6 percent this week, which is its best performance since 10-14 September.

The operator of the bourse, Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx) rose 2.3 percent on hopes that the capital inflows are likely to continue in the markets. Authorities in Hong Kong have indicated that it is not planning to change the currency peg against the US dollar even after Hong Kong dollar saw heavy selling in the market.

Chow Tai Fook, a China-focused jeweler, recorded a rise of 9.6 percent in heavy volume, that was also influences by positive Hong Kong September retail sales figure that were released on Thursday byt eh authrorities.

The China Enterprises Index, which is the top Chinese listings in Hong Kong, increased by 1.2 percent today and recorded an impressive rise of 3.7 percent through the week.
