MicrosoftMicrosoft on Friday morning fixed its previous day glitch affecting its MSN, Windows Live and Hotmail services. The “temporary outage” caused widespread panic among users when their sign up was invalidated with their inboxes disappearing, and instructions for signing up a new e-mail account!  

Late Thursday night, Microsoft assured the users that their inboxes as well as e-mails were “safe,” and that the quandary resulted from an “incorrect message,” which apparently had been sent out during the company’s “routine maintenance” procedure.

Indian Currency Gains 0.66% During The WeekThe Indian currency gained 0.66% against the US dollar for the week ended Friday, April 10 to stand at 50 as compared to 50.33 during the last week’s closure on April 3 mainly because of the strong rally in local equities and firm US unit.

Rupee, on Monday, went up on the back of sharp gains in the local equities that lifted up the hopes of the foreign fund inflows, but reduced its gains as refiners bought US units.

The partially convertible Indian currency marked its closure 0.6% stronger at 50.04/05 against USD than Thursday`s close of 50.33/35.

Sensex Up By 445.03 Pts; Nifty Gains 131 PtsDuring the week ended April 09, 2009, the 30 share index, Sensex gained 445.03 points to 10,803.86, whereas the broad based NSE Nifty climbed 131 points to 3,342.05 during the same period.

Indian stock markets on Monday belled the week strongly and closed the day in the positive terrain.

At closure, Sensex climbed 186 points to close at 10535, whereas the Nifty marked its closure at 3256, up 45 points.

Consumer durables, metal, auto and real estate stocks topped the gaining charts, whereas FMCG stocks went down.
