Sony planning to release six new games in Hindi

SonySeeking to hijack the potentially lucrative Indian gaming market, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is planning to release games in the regional languages in India. Business Standards has reported that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, which holds 80 percent gaming market in India, is looking to release at least six games in Hindi this year.

Transcend unveils its latest array of Solid State Drives in India

The Transcend's latest array includes 1.8" portable SSD, also known as SSD18M, 1.8" and 2.5" SATA-II and IDE interface SSDs.

According to Transcend, the latest solid state drives (SSDs) are light-weight, highly-dependable and consume very little power. The SSDs are designed to stand firm against shock and vibration offers a number of features of the compact and high-end portable devices. The SSDs come with two-year warranty.

Nokia India has announced that the company is targeting the first half the year for the commercial launch of Nokia Life Tools services, which will offer agricultural info, educational info and other useful services in the small towns and rural areas across the country.

Hero Group pulls out of DHMC; Daimler to go ahead with truck venture in India!

Daimler - Hero GroupCiting the rather poor performance of the Indian heavy truck segment, the Hero Group has decided to pull out of its joint venture with Daimler! With the Hero Group quitting the collaboration for making commercial vehicles in India, Daimler will buy back Hero's 40 percent stake - worth 16 million euros - in Daimler Hero Motor Corporation (DHMC).

While Daimler says the Hero Group back-out was due to financial constraints, the Chairman of Hero Corporate Services, Sunil Kant Munjal, cited plunging commercial vehicle sales in India - which dropped 22 percent in FY 2009 - as the reason.

Consumer durables and FMCG stocks remained up, whilst metal, capital goods, oil & gas and power stocks fell into the pessimistic zone.

BSE Midcap and Smallcap index declined 1.64% and 1.45% respectively.
 
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Metal lost 4.31%, Capital goods fell 3.33%, Oil & Gas and Power was sown by more than 2%.

ArcelorMittal's Orissa, Jharkhand steel projects delayed by two years

As such, the world's biggest steelmaker's pending payment to the state government, for a 1,500-acre land earmarked for the proposed facility, will also be delayed.
