Galileo, the leading Global Distribution System in India, had signed a preferred GDS agreement with Akbar Travel of India Pvt. Ltd., the firm which offers all travel related services under one umbrella, to distribute, manage and book travel management services for its customers in India.

This tie-up will enable Akbar travels to use Galileo as its preferred technology partner for booking and servicing all its customers.

A group of patients with type 1 diabetes were able to live without insulin injection for months after getting treatment involving their stem cells. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells within the pancreas.

Recent study has shown that intake of methamphetamine during pregnancy can lead to brain abnormalities in children. Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant that is injected, snorted, smoked or swallowed by the people.

Research team led by Dr. Linda Chang of the University of Hawaii compared data collected from 29 3- and 4-year-olds whose mothers used methamphetamine during pregnancy with 37 children of the same ages whose mothers did not use the drug.

During a study by Statistics Canada, 46 per cent of male nurses and 33 per cent of female nurses reported that they have been physically abused. The study included 12,200 respondents to a national survey of nurses in 2005. 47 per cent of the study subjects reported emotional abuse.
