CSKA Moscow fans arrested at Ukraine border Kiev - Ukrainian border police on Thursday arrested four CSKA Moscow supporters attempting to enter the country illegally on foot to attend their team's UEFA Cup match at Shakhtar Donetsk.

News reports said that the CSKA fans were detained near the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, some 400 metres from the international frontier, and charged with illegal border crossing.

He admitted a charge of improper conduct relating to a touchline row with Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear during an FA Cup tie at St James' Park in January.

Both were sent to the stand by referee Phil Dowd. Kinnear is recovering from heart surgery and will have his case heard at a later date.

The Spaniard's present deal expires at the end of next season, but he is now contracted to the club until 2014.

An initial contract offer was rejected in January by Benitez because it did not give him full control over transfer policy.

"My heart is with Liverpool Football Club, so I'm delighted to sign this new deal," he said.

ROUNDUP: Bremen and Marseille through to UEFA Cup quarter-finalsHamburg - German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and Olympique Marseille on Wednesday became the first clubs through to the quarter- finals of the UEFA Cup after both drawing their away games 2-2.

Werder Bremen held French side St Etienne 2-2 in their second leg match of the last 16 to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

There was better news for French football though as Marseille came from behind to snatch a dramatic extra time 2-2 draw at Ajax Amsterdam for a 4-3 aggregate victory.
