Bird Flu virus has spread to two more regions including Barpeta and Nalbari in lower Assam.
The fresh outbreak prompted the State Veterinary department to start the culling of thousands of chickens in these regions.
The samples, which were sent to laboratories in Bhopal, have tested positive for H5N1 avian influenza.
The State Government has ordered culling operations and Rapid Response Teams (RRT)s have already begun going from house-to-house asking the habitants to give away their poultry birds to them.

Gaza - Premier Ehud Olmert has been forced to withdraw his promise to release 250 Palestinian prisoners as a goodwill gesture to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian sources said on Saturday.
According to the sources, the Palestinian Authority (PA) received a message from the caretaker Israeli government saying that "huge pressure was put on Olmert and forced him to review his promise" made to Abbas in Jerusalem last month.
Olmert faced pressure to halt the release of the prisoners until the release of Israeli Corporal Gilad Shalit, who is presently in the hands of the Islamic Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip
New Delhi, December 6 : The Chinese minister of the State Council Information Office, Wang Chen, has revealed that the Internet is being misused to spread rumours by most of the users.
He said so while delivering a speech during the 8th Forum on Internet Media of China in Chongqing on Friday, through which he urged the country’s online media to help foster a society of integrity and honesty.
Chen’s speech unveiled 10 "worrying trends" in the Chinese online community.
While ‘spreading rumours’ topped the list, exaggeration of news came in second.
Islamabad, Dec. 6 : The battle between the Parliament and the Supreme Court in Pakistan seems to be heading for yet another confrontation. Even though Pakistan boasts that it has an established democracy, it doesn’t have the hierarchy of rule which exists in a true democratic state.
“Parliament is supreme and we hope that the principle of parliamentary supremacy will be established and accepted by all in accordance with the Constitution,” the media adviser of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari , Farhatullah Babar, said.
“Parliament is supreme and let there be no doubt or mistake about it,” Babar added.
