Former Australian coach John Buchanan is disappointed by the decision of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to fire him from the job of head coach.

Buchanan said that the reason for failure of KKR in the IPL-2 was failure of his long-term plans to produce necessary short-term results.

Buchanan did not comment on Sourav Ganguly and KKR's owners but said that other IPL franchises which are looking for new head coach now or may be in future will be interested in him and his capabilities.

He further added that Queensland Cricket supported his vision and plans and gave him the opportunity to deliver it over a five-year period and they won two one-day competitions and another Sheffield Shield.

Before joining of Buchanan as a coach of Queensland, they had not won a single title for 69 years but in very next season of Buchanan's appointment, they won their first title.
