Zero tolerance on piracy in Abu Dhabi 19th book fair
Abu Dhabi - Publishers involved in pirating will not be allowed to participate in the 19th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, the fair director said Tuesday.
"Publishers were warned against participating without having authentic copyrights for their books," said Jumaa al-Qubaisi, director of the fair.
Al-Qusaibi said that there will be several symposiums to create awareness of authentic copyrights. Symposiums will address both the public and publishing houses.
The director added that the fair, to be held next March 17-22, will be organized by Kitab company along with the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
"We will be expanding the special section for children's books for the first time in order to allure more children into reading," al- Qubaisi said.
He revealed that there will an International Copyright Congress, to be organised in 2010, in Abu Dhabi. (dpa)
