Zardari claims to know Bhutto’s assassins, vows to expose them

Zardari claims to know Bhutto’s assassins, vows to expose themNaudero, Dec. 28  Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he knows his late wife Benazir Bhutto's killers, and vowed to expose them.

"I will expose the killers of Benazir Bhutto. I know the killers, I will expose the killers to save the country," Zardari said while addressing PPP leaders who had gathered to pay homage to Benazir Bhutto at her family home in Naudero, Sindh.

Zardari also welcomed the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon's call to initiate an independent inquiry into Benazir's assassination, the Daily Times reported.

"We will have to wait for UN even if it takes a long time," he said while adding that the `enemies of Pakistan' were being impatient and provoking people.

He also said that Pakistani people and the parliament knew that Benazir had been assassinated in an attempt to disintegrate Pakistan but his government would keep it united.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister, Sherry Rehman has also vowed to expose the assassins of Benazir Bhutto.

"Such a high-level investigation cannot be carried out under a small FIR. When we have already initiated this process (for a UN probe) then efforts should be made to ensure an investigation of international level," she said after paying honour to Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh.

"They (UN) have informed us that these investigations are underway," Rehman said.

She also said that their party would always follow Bhutto's political vision and it would not sway from the pledge to secure basic rights for the people. (ANI)
