Yamaha Motor India, a 100% owned subsidiary of Yamaha Motors Company Limited of Japan., is all set to double its production capacity to 8 lakh units in next two years.

For fulfilling its proposed plan, the company is setting up additional facilities at its manufacturing plant in Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Presently, the company's total production capacity at its Surajpur and Faridabad plants is 4 lakh units. The company utilizes 60-70% of its capacity.

Yamaha sold 1.18 lakh units last fiscal and has already crossed sales of one lakh units this year.

The company is scheduled to launch a new bike, FZ, in the 150-cc + category this week, which will be priced around Rs 65,000. This will be the third product from Yamaha this year after YZF-R1 and Gladiator.

Apart from this, the company is also focusing on expanding dealerships and facilitating consumer finance. The company eyes to expand its dealerships to 450 from present 307, by next fiscal.
