Manila - A woman was killed and 13 people were injured when a passenger bus fell off a bridge in the southern Philippines, a police report said Monday.

The ill-fated bus was travelling along a highway in Tarragona town in Davao Oriental province, 1,035 kilometres south of Manila, when its brakes failed late Sunday.

The lone fatality, a woman who was suffering from a heart disease, died while being treated in a nearby hospital. She suffered contusions on her head.(dpa)
