Videogames don’t make boys violent

Melbourne, May 9 : Videogames don’t make boys violentPlaying violent videogames do not turn young boys into criminal or violent people, according to two Harvard Medical School psychologists.

In an interview, Dr Lawrence Kutner and Dr Cheryl Olsen of Harvard Medical School defended the nature of videogames that the young generation is hooked to.

The pair said that there was no evidence to suggest such games cause aggression in the behaviour of young people.

"If you look at the violent crime in the US over the past 20 years among teenagers it's gone down, and gone down significantly, and if you look at videogame play, it's gone up," News. com. au quoted them, as saying.

"The big concern that you hear the politicians and the pundits argue, that playing violent videogames will somehow turn your child into a criminal or a violent person, there's absolutely no evidence for that," they added. (ANI)
