Tiger Airways appoints Crawford Rix as a new head of its Australian operations
Singapore based Tiger Airways Holdings Group announced today that it is going to change the head of its Australian division, Tiger Airways Australia. Tony Davis, chief executive of Tiger Airways Holdings Group, has announced today that Crawford Rix will be replacing Shelley Roberts, the existing managing director of Tiger Airways Australia.
Crawford Rix has been managing director of low cost UK carrier bmibaby for the past four years. Mr. Rix has more than 30 years experience in aviation industry. He has worked at the senior positions for Dan Air, British Midland, bmi regional and bmibaby. Mr. Rix will report to Mr. Tony Davis, chief executive of Tiger Airways Holdings Group.
However, Tiger Australia said that the move of the company is amicable and the decision was taken on the wish of Ms. Shelley Roberts.
"She intends to take a well deserved break. We would like to thank her and wish her continued success in her future endeavors," said Tony Davis.
Tiger Australia is known for its super low airfares and has aircraft depots in Melbourne and in Adelaide. Tiger Australia has seen two profitable quarters in a row. The Group has announced its quarterly results earlier. Tiger Airways has reported a net profit of $11 million for the third quarter of the fiscal.
