As per industry experts, this hard drive is the world's highest capacity drive and the newest member of WD's well-liked, environmentally friendly, cool and quiet, WD CAviar Green hard drive family.

It should be noted here that the latest 3.5-inch platform is based on WD's industry-leading 500 GB/platter technology (with 400 Gb/in2 areal density) with 32 MB cache, producing drives with capacities of up to 2 TB.

Rambus to Develop high speed Memory for Mobile Phones and Low Power Devices

RambusMonday saw Rambus, a developer of high-speed interfaces and memory technologies, announcing its Mobile Memory Initiative. With this initiative, the company aims at achieving data rates of 4.3GHz at best-in-class power efficiency.

Martin Scott, senior vice president of research and technology development at Rambus reported, "As consumer expectations grow for more media-rich applications on their mobile devices, new memory solutions will be needed to keep pace with the rapidly increasing bandwidth requirements."

Triple Channel Memory Kits launched by Transcend The availability of DDR3-1333 triple channel memory kits in India for Intel Core i7 processors and Intel X58 Express Chipset motherboards has been announced by Transcend Information, a manufacturer of memory modules.

The company confirmed that these kits which have been designed specifically for the new platform provide an optimized combination of low voltage (1.5V), generous speed, and enhanced latency (9-9-9-24).
