Melbourne, October 19 : The popular social networking site Facebook has come under fire for its new layout after three million of its members called to boycott it.
The protest that started with a million members and had formed a community by the name of ‘1,000,000 Against The New Facebook’, has managed to almost trebled its members drawing support of 2.8 million users.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the change was a must to be in sync with the amount of information its users were posting.
On Tuesday, a very astonishing fact was put forward by the researchers of the U.S. that the memories of the middle aged and older adults can be kept intact and sharp, if they regularly search the internet.
To reach this conclusion, the researchers at University of California Los Angeles scrutinized people engaged in searching the Web, while at the same time their brain activity was recorded with the help of functional magnetic resonance imaging scans.

Washington (dpa) - Web-based e-mail services may get most of the attention these days, but traditional desktop-based e-mail remains indispensable for most. That's in part because of history - people are still accustomed to downloading their e-mail into a traditional application - and in part because many have grown dependent upon the additional features that have come to be seen as essential to e-mail programs but are lacking in Web-based e-mail: contact management, calendaring, and more.
Washington, October 8: Google has come up with “Mail Goggles” that can prevent people from sending stupid e-mails, especially at particular hours when they are most likely to be inebriated and at risk of making a complete idiot of themselves.
Mail Goggles throw five maths problems up on the screen when a user presses the “send” button. The problems have to be solved within a limited period of time.
Being able to do so would cause the system to presume that the user’s mental state is sound enough to send appropriate mails.
Even if a person is very good at solving mathematical problems, there is an option to ramp up the difficulty of the questions.
