Mumbai: India’s top software services exporter, Tata Consultancy Services has signed up a $1.2 billion deal with Netherlands-based Nielsen Company for IT & operations support globally.

The deal allows TCS share to gain more than 5 percent in today’s trading session.

Under a 10-year agreement, TCS will supply IT and operational processes and help Nielsen incorporate and centralise several systems, technologies and actions on an international scale.

TCS will also take care of some finance and human resource business actions that will be carried on new BPO platforms built up by the company.

Nielsen Company offers a broad variety of worldwide services, comprising television and Internet audience measurement, services to clients in print, insight and analysis of consumer behavior for the packaged goods and retail industries, entertainment, books, online and mobile media services, video and the music industries. It is also a top supplier of business publications and trade shows.
