Metro connectivity to 2010 Games venues The Phase II construction of the Delhi Metro shall provide easy Metro connectivity to 10 out of 11 venues of the Commonwealth Games 2010.

These venues include Games Village, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi University, Thyagaraj Complex, Siri Fort Sports Complex, National Stadium, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Talkatora Indoor Stadium, Yamuna Sports Complex and R K Khanna Tennis Complex.

India signs biggest ever defense deal with US India inked defense deal worth USD 2.1 billion with United States to buy eight Boeing P-8 Long-Range Maritime Reconnaissance (LRMR) aircrafts for its Navy. It is the biggest ever defense deal signed by both countries which would help to strengthen mutual strategic ties in the areas of military and civil co-operation.

The deal was signed between Indian Defense Ministry's Joint Secretary, Preeti Sudan and Vice-president of Boeing integrated defense systems, Vivek Lall. It may be recalled that the Cabinet Committee on Security had already approved the deal on December 27.

Ahluwalia Contracts wins various orders worth Rs 394 crore

New Delhi based civil engineering contracting firm, Ahluwalia Contracts Ltd has informed that the company has secured various orders worth Rs 394 crore.

The company has secured first order worth Rs 72.84 crore from Delhi Metro Express for construction of Dwarka Depot including civil, building services and architectural work in New Delhi.

While, the second order, valued at Rs 50 crore has been received from Tata Medical Centre Trust, for construction of general building, finishing and miscellaneous works of Tata Medical Centre, situated at Kolkata.

The third order, which is for construction of D.N.Nagar Depot, Mumbai has been secured from Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd. for Rs 184.09 crore.

Mohammad Hakim, who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad on January 2, was sent to police remand till January 15 by Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao.

Children''s Science Congress inaugurated at NEHU
