IGL gets exclusivity for gas distribution network in NCR

IGLPetroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (P&NGRB) has allowed Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) to implement gas distribution network in the entire national capital region of Delhi. IGL supplies compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) across NCR.

It is a joint venture of State run GAIL (India) Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd along with Government of NCT of Delhi.

Indian export industry predicts 10 million job losses by March

"There will be 10 million job losses by March," A Sakthivel, president of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.

Indian export-oriented industries, which account for about 22 per cent of the country's gross domestic product, are highly labour-intensive and employ an estimated 150 million people.

Diplomats from various countries meet Pranab Mukherjee

The condemnation by Arab States Mission assumes significance because it has 22 members, most of whom are Muslim countries. It can be a set back for Pakistan.

Chidambaram for proactive approach against potential terrorists

Addressing the Chief Minister''s conference on terrorism here, Chidambaram called for the need for more preparedness to handle sophisticated terror threats and asked the Chief Ministers to put in place a clear command structure to tackle any terrorist threat or attack.

No impact of transporters strike on vegetable prices in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 6 : A day after transporters went on a nationwide indefinite strike, the prices of vegetables remained unaffected at Azadpur wholesale vegetable market on Tuesday.

The operators at the market said the strike had not affected the prices of the perishable commodities.

"The strike has not affected the Delhi vegetable market as such. We are getting the supplies. I don''t think that it has been affected much. Save for two-three percent reduction in supplies, there is not much loss," said Bhajan Singh, Vice Chairman, Agricultural Produce Marketing Centre, Azadpur vegetable market.
