New Delhi, Jan 7 : The Government on Wednesday said that it might reduce the petrol and diesel prices in the next two to three weeks.

"We will try to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the next 2-3 weeks," Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told media persons at the AICC Headquarters here.

The government also said it may cut the price of cooking gas.

"There was loss on that count to the government," he said. However, he hinted at a reduction of Rs 20-25 per cylinder.

New Delhi, January 7 : The Internet Society of China has revealed that there were over 50 million online bloggers in the country by the end of November last year, as compared to 47 million in the same month a year ago.

Gao Lulin, deputy head of the Internet Society of China, said that the increase in the number of bloggers in the country was due to the fact that more and more Chinese wanted to express their own views about local and international events through the Internet.

New Delhi, Jan. 7 : The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today expressed its shock and disappointment at the disclosures made by B. Ramalinga Raju on the financial position and financial statements of Satyam Computer Services.

In a statement it said that there is a need to immediately examine the loopholes in regulation, accounting, audit and governance that allowed such lapses to occur and address them with urgency.

New Delhi, Jan. 7 : Some Pakistani individuals, who are on the prowl to hack important websites and misuse them by giving it Islamic or Pakistani colour, have targeted Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's famous community group on orkut, the social networking site.

Delhi/Gurgaon, Jan. 7 : Visa and Delhi Gurgaon SuperConnectivity Ltd. (DGSCL) have introduced a Standing Instruction (SI) facility that enables motorists to reload their Smart Tags automatically using their Visa credit cards.

This will be convenient for motorists as the Smart Tags can be programmed to automatically reload when the stored value decreases to a specified level. This amount would be deducted from the customer's Visa credit card and reflected in their monthly statement.

New Delhi, Jan 7 : Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the largest naval academy in Asia at Ezhimala on January 8.

The Naval Academy at Ezhimala located in Kannur (Cannanore) district of Kerala, will be the premier officer-training establishment of the Indian Navy.

Commencing June 2009, all officers inducted into the Indian Navy, under various schemes, will undergo basic training at this academy.
