Pratibha added, “There are several issues on which suggestions could be passed on to the government. A president can always discuss suggestions on critical issues and the government after due consideration can accept or reject those.”

NEW DELHI: The Government has planned to undertake a major afforestation programme for greening 6 million hectares of degraded forest land; It would be one of the world’s largest afforestation efforts in recent times, said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday.
New Delhi: State-run gas utility GAIL (India) and Apollo Tyres has signed up a contract for making power from steam.
According to the company release, GAIL will supply steam from its Vaghodia Compressor Station (near Vadodara) to Apollo Tyres that would produce power for it.
