Jennifer Aniston lends voice for a lamb story audio CD

Jennifer-AnistonNew Delhi, Mar 23 : Jennifer Aniston has lent her voice to an audio CD version of a children''s book, called ''Loukoumi''s Good Deeds'', which tells the story of a cuddly lamb.

The project holds a special place for the `Friends' star, as she got a chance to work alongside her father John Aniston, reports the China Daily.

"It is a wonderful story, plain and simple. She did it because she wanted to do it with her dad, as well as she loved the story," a representative for Jennifer said of her latest role.

President to issue notification for first phase of LS elections todayNew Delhi, Mar 23 : President Pratibha Patil will issue the notification for the first phase of the five phased Lok Sabha elections today.

As many as 124 out of the total 543 constituencies will go to polls in the first phase, which is scheduled to be held on April 16 covering 15 states and two Union Territories.

The election process will be completed in one go in the first phase in Kerala (20 seats), Chhattisgarh (11) and Arunachal Pradesh (2).

Expel, deny admission to students guilty of ragging: UGC

University Grants CommissionNew Delhi, Mar 22 : The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recommended debarring of students guilty of ragging a fellow student from getting admission in educational institutes for life.

"The regulations will be discussed at the meeting of 17 different councils, including the Medical Council of India (MCI), the AICTE and the state councils, next month. The regulations will be implemented after being approved by the councils, which are monitoring higher education in the country," UGC Chairman Professor Sukhadeo Thorat said in New Delhi on Sunday.

Jade Goody dies of cancer

Jade GoodyNew Delhi, Mar 22 : British reality star Jade goody has lost her battle to cervical cancer, media has reported.

The mum of two, 27, who recently married boyfriend Jack Tweed, died in her sleep at her home in Essex, southeast England, her publicist Max Clifford said.

Goody was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 but the disease spread to her liver, groin and bowel and she was told it was terminal in February.

She was being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London but wanted to die at home with her family, new husband and sons, Bobby, five, and Freddy, four.
