New Delhi, Mar 22 : British reality star Jade goody has lost her battle to cervical cancer, media has reported.
The mum of two, 27, who recently married boyfriend Jack Tweed, died in her sleep at her home in Essex, southeast England, her publicist Max Clifford said.
Goody was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 but the disease spread to her liver, groin and bowel and she was told it was terminal in February.
She was being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London but wanted to die at home with her family, new husband and sons, Bobby, five, and Freddy, four.
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on Saturday, was taken to AIIMS for a routine health check up.
The 84-year-old Vajpayee has been admitted to AIIMS nearly three weeks after getting discharged from the hospital.
Dr. D K Sharma, Medical Superintendent AIIMS, said, “He will stay in the hospital for two days during which these follow-up tests will be conducted for him.”
The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted to AIIMS Feb 3 following complaints of a chest infection.
New Delhi - India's cricket board Sunday announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 tournament will be staged abroad owing to the authorities' inability to provide security as the event coincides with country's general elections.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which said it will reveal the new venue in the "next couple of days."
Media reports citing BCCI sources said South Africa or Britain would be the venue for the second edition of the IPL.
New Delhi, Mar 22 : The Congress Party has expressed regret over the alleged derogatory remarks of Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
According to media reports, Thackeray referred to the Prime Minister and the United Progressive Alliance in a derogatory manner while addressing a public rally in Mumbai on March 20.
Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari has urged the Election Commission to take serious note of the incident.

New Delhi - Mumbai police are seeking the death penalty for the lone gunman captured alive in terrorist attacks on the city in November last year, news reports said Saturday.
Jayant Patil, home minister of Maharashtra state, said police demanded the death penalty for Ajmal Amir Kasab, the PTI news agency reported.
Kasab, allegedly of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group, will face trial for murder and "waging war against India."
