The 84-year-old Vajpayee has been admitted to AIIMS nearly three weeks after getting discharged from the hospital.

Dr. D K Sharma, Medical Superintendent AIIMS, said, “He will stay in the hospital for two days during which these follow-up tests will be conducted for him.”

The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted to AIIMS Feb 3 following complaints of a chest infection.

India's Twenty20 league shifted abroad

IPLNew Delhi - India's cricket board Sunday announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 tournament will be staged abroad owing to the authorities' inability to provide security as the event coincides with country's general elections.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which said it will reveal the new venue in the "next couple of days."

Media reports citing BCCI sources said South Africa or Britain would be the venue for the second edition of the IPL.

Jayant Patil, home minister of Maharashtra state, said police demanded the death penalty for Ajmal Amir Kasab, the PTI news agency reported.

Kasab, allegedly of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group, will face trial for murder and "waging war against India."

FICCI Chairman, Harsh Pati Singhania, while addressing the inauguration summit on infrastructure, said, "The rise in interest rates for project financing in the country have increased and are jeopardizing the financial viability of projects under the PPP mode."
