BJP finalises names of 29 nominees for elections in Uttar PradeshNew Delhi, Mar 24 : The Bharatiya Janata Party has finalised the names of 29 Lok Sabha nominees for Uttar Pradesh, including R. V. Singh and Pradeep Singh.

R. V. Singh will contest from the Amethi constituency against Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, while Pradeep Singh will contest against Congress president Sonia Gandhi for the Rae Bareli seat.

Party president Rajnath Singh, also cleared the names of candidates for State Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.

Pakistan should punish Mumbai attackers, Singh says New Delhi - India expects Pakistan to take action and punish terrorists who attacked the financial hub of Mumbai last November, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Tuesday.

Singh told reporters at the launch of the ruling Congress party's election manifesto in New Delhi that diplomatic efforts had succeeded and Pakistan had for the first time admitted that its citizens were involved in the terrorist attacks.

"We expect Pakistan to take the next step and ensure justice is done and culprits are punished," Singh said.
