Delhi court rejects plea of brothers accused under POTA

Delhi High CourtNew Delhi, Apr. 5 : Two suspected members of Pakistan-based militant organization Jaish-e-Mohammed have been refused bail by a Delhi POTA court.

Accused brothers, Raees-uz-Zama and Atique-uz-Zama, had sought release on bail for two months to attend marriage of their younger brother, but a special judge for POTA rejected their plea.

"Keeping in view the circumstances coupled with the gravity of the offences with which the accused were charged with, their plea for interim bail was declined," the judge said.

Varun Gandhi a victim of nexus between BJP, BSP: Kapil SibalNew Delhi, Apr 4 : Congress leader and Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi was a victim of nexus between the saffron party and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

"I think this is a political game of the BJP and the BSP. They have a nexus; BJP wants to benefit itself from Hindutva. On the other hand, the BSP wants division in the minority vote," Sibal told reporters here.

Singh has been accused of distributing money in Gajaria village of Barmer constituency in Rajasthan.

Singh's son Manvendra Singh is fighting the Lok Sabha election from Barmer.

Barmer District Magistrate Ravi Jain had sent a detailed report and a video recording of the incident to the Election Commission.

DoT directs ban on usage of Chinese mobilesNew Delhi, Apr 4 : The Department of Telecom (DoT) has directed all mobile phone service users to disconnect the usage of unbranded Chinese mobiles that do not have IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) numbers and pose a serious security risk to the country.

The mobile phone companies have undertaken to acquire the necessary equipment to track these phones by April 15 and discontinue their services thereafter - a process that is expected to take another 15 days, that is, by April 30.
