Stock Markets trade lower due to weak global cuesNSE Nifty was down by 51 points at 1 pm IST at 4341 while BSE Sensex was down by 188 points. Following weak global trend, Indian stock markets opened lower on Tuesday and slipped further during the first two hours of trading session. US Markets closed weak on Monday and Asian stocks opened lower on Tuesday.

In today’s session, Auto and Banking stocks were among major losers. IT Stocks were looking better compared to other sectors.

Major losers in today’s session were ACC (down by 5%), Maruti (down by 4.6%), Idea Cellular (down by 4.2%) and HDFC (down by 3.46%).

SAIL, ABB, Reliance Petroleum and NTPC were among gainers in today’s session.

US Stock markets closed lower on Monday with DJIA closing 180 points lower at 11,479. Financial Sector majors hit the investor sentiment with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae losing over 22%. MetLife Inc. touched 52-week low of $13.1 after losing nearly 49 per cent compared to previous close. Nasdaq Composite Index was also down by 1.45% at 2416.
