Sourav Ganguly Bids Farewell To First Class Cricket

Sourav GangulyAce cricketer and former Indian Captian Sourav Ganguly bid farewell to first-class cricket a month after retiring from international cricket.

Ganguly had volunteered to play for Bengal in the Ranji Plate semifinal against Goa at the Karnail Singh Stadium here to help the team return to the elite division of domestic cricket.

Sourav said after Bengal returned to Ranji Elite division, "I won't miss playing cricket anymore..... Every cricketer has to retire one day and I don't have any sad feelings about the decision (to retire).... I am happy that Bengal have qualified for the Elite division." Ganguly made 69 in the first innings of the semifinal match, commenting on the performance of Bengal pacer Ranadeb Bose who took six wickets in Goa first innings, Ganguly said, "He has done well in domestic cricket but it is unfortunate that he is yet to play Test cricket."
