Sony Rolls Out 11 Digital Cameras; Eyes 42% Share In Digital Cameras MktThe technology seems to be advancing day by day and it brings happy news for all those who are Gizmo freaks.

To strengthen its leadership position in the digital camera market, Sony India recently has launched 11 new digital still cameras in the market.

The newly launched digital still cameras come packed with newest technologies, and are available in the price range between Rs 7,990 and Rs 29,990.

Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, Sony India Managing Director, said, “With the introduction of new product line, we are looking to increase our market share to 42 per cent in the fiscal year 2009 from 37 per cent in the fiscal year 2008.”

The new products include the world’s slimmest digital camera having optical image stabiliser and digital still camera with burst shooting and sweep panorama function.

Sony has also introduced 10-12 mega-pixel resolution in all its cyber-shot models.

Moreover, the company is also eyeing to raise the total number of its outlets to 200 from 150 by the end of the existing year (2009).

Mr. Tamagawa said, “The company will increase the number of its exclusive outlets from 150 to 200 by the end of this year.”

He also said that Sony rolled out the new line to capture the rising market.
