Sonia Gandhi asks youth to usher a revolution in countryRanchi, Apr 11 : United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said that over half of the country comprises of youths, and they could usher a change and a revolution in the country.

"This is a country of youths. There are around 70 percent youths in our country today. Who can bring the change? Only the young generation can bring change. This is a century of change and revolution," Gandhi told an election rally here.

She also said that despite recession, the Central Government has taken the country's economy to new heights.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Central Government has announced the revolution. Despite recession, he has taken the country's economy to certain heights. Our government has taken the initiative to build a new India by dispelling poverty and hunger and give people a right to work by introducing various employment schemes," Gandhi added.

The Congress president also launched a scathing attack on communal forces.

"We should be on guard against such forces who are a threat to both unity and peace. These forces are against the prosperity of the nation," she added. (ANI)
