Sonia Gandhi To Address Congress Parliamentary Party Meeting

Sonia GandhiNew Delhi: Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, steered clear of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s tough talk of daring Left parties to withdraw support to UPA government over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

When asked by reporters what she thought of PM’s remarks, Gandhi countered saying how can she reply to such a query.

She also parried question about possible political repercussions over nuke agreement.

Gandhi said the AICC reshuffle was overdue, but exercise could be linked to changes in Union Council of Ministers about which the PM has to take a decision.

She is expected to reveal her mind on the latest controversy in wake of PM’s daring the Left parties to withdraw support to his government on nuke deal.

She will also address a general body meeting of Congress Parliamentary Party. While the CWC has already certified the deal, Singh’s statement had created political ripples. Nuke deal is set to dominate the proceedings in Parliament.
