Highly talented, confident about her singing and determined to win the title, Shini Kalvint, from small town Gwalior, has been voted out of the reality show ‘Indian Idol 4.’

Right from the auditions days, Shini, the only bahu on Indian Idol, was one of the top candidates for the most-coveted title ‘Indian Idol 4.’

After seeing all her power-packed performances, the judges including Javed Akhtar, Anu Malik, Sonali Bendre and Kailash Kher thought that Shini had an edge over other contestants.

But unluckily the voting pattern has ruined that faith.

With Shini eliminated Sonali is heart-broken. She made no effort to hold back her tears as she bid Shini goodbye.

Will the audiences vote for the best or simply go on with the bias of area and gender? One wonders. But if the same trend stays, music reality shows may sorrowfully become a ridiculous process.

Hoping better sense prevails and the viewers vote even for those who produce an outstanding performance and not vote only to save a floundering contestant. May the best contestant go to the top!
