Save on wedding costs by renting the dress, making invitations

http://topnews.in/node/113354Frankfurt  - There are many ways couples can save money when planning their wedding.

"The bridal gown most certainly can be rented for a reasonable price or bought second-hand," said Friederike Mauritz, chairwoman of the association of German wedding planners in Frankfurt. A second-hand dress may have to be altered, so that cost should be taken into consideration when considering the purchase.

Couples also can save money by dispensing with the idea of ordering invitations and place cards from a professional printer. Invitations, place cards and the dinner menu can be made at home. Additionally, Mauritz suggests saving money on decorations.

"They can create a nice effect while costing almost nothing," she said. An example is rose petals strewn on the tables, however, couples should choose flowers that are in season as imported ones are expensive. (dpa)
