Rulers perform Eid prayers
Sharjah, 8th Dec. 2008 -- Eid Al Adha prayers were held across the country with prayer leaders (Imams) pleading to Muslims to invoke the valuable, noble teachings of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) regarding the Festival of Sacrifice.
In their Eid sermons, the Imams said the glorious occasion is a school where faithfuls learn how to show mercy on poor, orphans and needy.
They also urged Muslims to follow the moderate and tolerant approach of Islam and distance themselves from extremism and radicalism and advised parents to raise their children according to good morals and acts.
They prayed for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and begged the Almighty to protect the UAE under the leadership of President H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Rulers of Emirates from any harm and maintain His grace of peace, stability and security.
Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates performed the service in their respective emirates.
In Sharjah, HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, offered the Eid prayer at Bedae Mussalla.
HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah along with other Sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, UAE nationals and a crowd of members of Arab and Muslim communities in Sharjah attended the prayer.
In neighbouring Ajman, HH Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered the Eid prayer at Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Mosque.
He was joined by HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and a group of top local officials and a crowd of worshippers.
In Fujairah, the prayer was graced by HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah.
The service was attended by HH Sheikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah along with other Sheikhs and top local officials.
In Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Qaiwain, HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and HH Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mua'lla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, performed the prayer at the Grand Eid Musallahs at Khuzam and Umm Al Qaiwain respectively.(WAM/TF)
